Sending a letter internationally from 20g to 100g.
Summary: cartelys asks about the postage rate for sending an international letter weighing 20 to 100 grams, noting that two stamps are not enough to cover the €4.15 rate. francexpressdeal suggests having the mail franked at a post office or online. cartelys thanks them for the advice and asks what to do with stamps already purchased. francexpressdeal advises using part of the stamps and paying the difference at the post office. cartelys expresses gratitude for the help received.
I thank in advance those who will take the time to answer my question because I’m desperate to find nothing on the subject.
So here’s the thing: at the moment, if you want to send a letter abroad weighing less than 20 grams, you have to put on a purple stamp costing €1.96. Nothing too complicated. However, if you want to send a letter weighing from 20 to 100 grams abroad, the rate is not simply doubled as it is for mail within mainland France, but goes up to €4.15, which means that adding another purple stamp is not enough. What should be done in cases like this? It would seem surreal to me to have to add a THIRD purple stamp for a 19-cent difference.
Thanks a lot for taking the time to read me!!

either have your mail stamped at a post office, or do online postage on the La Poste website.

OP2 years agoI’ll do that going forward then. Thanks! And if we’ve bought physical stamps, is it more complicated? I made the mistake of buying a sheet of 12 stamps...

you can perfectly well use some of your stamps and ask your post office to only pay the additional postage needed for your type of mailing.
