Error or change to Mondial Relay rates with eBay for Spain?
Summary: sotek229 sold an item on eBay to a buyer in Spain using Mondial Relay, but noticed an unexpected difference in shipping rates. Despite a rate table showing €4.65 incl. tax, Mondial Relay asked for €6 incl. tax. frelonverre and *miss-tigri* advise respectively accepting the small difference for the importance of a successful delivery and contacting Mondial Relay directly for clarification. After an exchange with Mondial Relay, it seems the problem is linked to inconsistent communication between eBay and Mondial Relay about the rates. sotek229 remains concerned about the lack of a precise rate table.
Hello,
I just sold an item on eBay to Spain for delivery to a pickup point with Mondial Relay. The parcel weighs less than 500 g. The only price list I have is on the Mondial Relay website and gives prices excluding tax https://www.mondialrelay.fr/solutions-professionnels/nos-services-ecommercants/partenaires-techniques/tarifs-ebay
In my case, I should therefore end up paying €3.85 excl. tax for delivery to a pickup point (i.e. about €4.65 incl. tax) but Mondial Relay (imported from the Mondial Relay site asks me for €6 incl. tax)
Does anyone know why? Mondial Relay error or a tariff change, not communicated or badly communicated?
Thanks in advance to the community.

OP1 year agoAfter requesting information from Mondial Relay about eBay's preferential rates for abroad, customer service replied with this:
"Dear customer,
We have taken note of your request regarding parcel delivery charges by eBay.
After checking, we inform you that eBay also has its own information on delivery charges through our service and which depends on the parcels sent.
For more information about your request, we invite you to contact eBay's service.
Kind regards,"
Basically, eBay and Mondial Relay are passing the buck to each other, and I still don't have a proper price grid for my shipping costs abroad .
What can I do?

and well add 20% to the eBay / Mondial Relay rate, since you have it tax-free
sotek229
OP1 year agothe pre-tax rate grid, we end up with a total including tax lower than the amount paid
for my parcel.

In my case, I should therefore end up paying €3.85 excl. VAT for delivery to a pickup point (or about €4.65 incl. VAT) but Mondial Relay (imported from the Mondial Relay site asks me for €6
well, the extra 1.40 plus the 4.65 makes €6.05, what a drama

The best thing would be to ask Mondial Relay directly:

I pay more than 8 euros and I’m not complaining
https://www.mondialrelay.fr/envoi-de-colis/tarifs-expeditions/
what matters is that your buyer receives their item, not what it costs you
one euro 35 cts more

and yes but me I include shipping in my items, disgusted as I am by sterile discussions about shipping costs, besides I'm already sulking about having to make 35-euro parcels
so of course I'm having a hard time following you
