Unknown system error for second chance offer
Summary: nicolasbrosseau is having difficulty sending a second chance offer on eBay after a sale was canceled due to the buyer not paying. Despite several attempts, an unknown error is preventing the transaction from being completed. lingma85 suggests clearing the browser history and checking the settings of potential buyers, while felin12 recommends contacting the bidders directly or reaching out to eBay customer service. nicolasbrosseau has contacted eBay and is considering relisting the item as Buy It Now.
Hello,
Following the sale of an item at auction, the last bidder did not pay and did not respond to my follow-ups. I waited the 4 days to declare Cancel the order , by selecting the reason The buyer did not pay in the drop-down menu. This was confirmed with a cancellation number.
However, I can't then make a second chance offer in the bidders list.
Indeed, it constantly displays (after 10 attempts...) the following message " Unknown system error An error occurred while processing the request." This is very frustrating and terribly annoying, I can't find an answer anywhere. And for eBay to tell me "Unknown error" makes me even more irritable.
Do you know why my second chance offer requests fail every time please?
Thanks
Nicolas

@nicolasbrosseau
Since you can’t send the second chance offer, with the bidding history you can choose to contact a username, explain the reasons for the message, and suggest that they make a buy-it-now listing.
Contacting Ebay customer service is not out of the question
to find out the causes of this malfunction
best regards

OP2 years agoThank you very much for your help! I contacted eBay, who told me that it comes from the client's settings. I will probably indeed make a listing with buy it now.

·2 years agoGood evening @nicolasbrosseau
It seems that the 10 attempts are indeed recorded in your browser history...
You need to delete them after logging out of ebay and/or change browsers to offer your second chance...
It also remains to be seen whether the bidders who lost and to whom you are offering this second chance have set up their ebay to receive them... If not, you won’t succeed either..
You will no doubt have other leads...

OP2 years agoThank you very much for your reply! It seems to come from the buyer's settings, I contacted eBay and they didn't see any other possibilities. I'll probably repost the listing as a Buy It Now. Thanks to you!
