Scammers and idiots- on a sale for €1600 (+ €60 shipping) ebay takes the modest sum of €173.32 from the seller, i.e. 10.8% in "selling fees" (on top of that it's HiFi electronics and in their rate it says 7%).- what's more, it's very easy to make a mistake: by accident I must have activated some "promote the listing" thing, which leads to "general advertising fees": €237.05 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!- the funniest part is I was selling two identical items (two amplifiers) at the same time; on one of them I must have accidentally turned on this cheap "promotion", on the other I didn't.- I chose shipping by UPS via eBay, eBay can't even manage to send me a confirmation email or keep a confirmation of that on the site in my account, I download the UPS shipping label once and ciao. I check with UPS that everything is fine, with the tracking number, etcetera, those eBay clowns noted a completely made-up package pickup address.- then on the phone they tell me "cancel the sale": I won't pay the "general ad fees", just the "selling fees"; indeed when a sale is cancelled well the "selling fees" are still due. What's more I can't cancel, the item having already been shipped.They're pure and simple thieves, they need to go under.
