Unable to activate a shipping fee discount rule
Summary: djruliane is trying to apply a discount on shipping fees for items on eBay, but can’t find the option in the listing form, even though he created a "fixed shipping fee rule." francexpressdeal suggests checking whether the standard form is being used and explains where the option should appear, but djruliane still can’t find it, despite several attempts to solve the problem, including creating rules and shipping rate tables.
Hello,
I’d like to offer a discount on the shipping fees for certain items (paid shipping for the first item, then the same price no matter how many items).
In my settings, I therefore created a "fixed shipping fee rule".
I then have to edit my listing to apply this rule. I quote eBay’s help: "In the Shipping section, select Apply my rule for shipping fee promotions." But in the Shipping section, this option doesn’t appear. Neither when editing an existing listing, nor when posting a new listing. And yet it is indeed an item for which I have several copies to sell.
Am I missing something?

Are you using the standard listing form?
Actually, the exact label is: "Rule for group shipping(optional)"
There, you have a little downward arrow and by clicking on it, you should get the rule you created.

As far as I know, I am indeed using the standard form. Just to make sure we're talking about the same one, it's a fairly simple form that offers the following sections:
-Photos and video
-Title
-Item category
-Condition
-Item characteristics
-Description
-Price
-Shipping
-Promote your listing
The Shipping section offers the following subsections:
-Package size
-Domestic shipping
-International shipping
-Shipping details
Where is the combined shipping rule supposed to be located?
PS: I am a private seller (in case that changes anything).

For the form, I think it is indeed the standard one because I have the same sections;
"Rule for grouped delivery(optional)" appears in both domestic shipping and international shipping.
As for it being a private individual, that doesn't change anything.
Note: I'm working on a PC, so if you're using the mobile app, it may not be presented the same way.

OP2 weeks agoI’m in a parallel world where the form looks a bit different. :) For comparison, here’s what my International shipping section looks like:
I can only offer one international shipping service, the layout is slightly different, and most importantly it’s missing the rate table and combined shipping rule options.
And yet I did create fixed shipping rate rules (in my profile > My sales > Shipping preferences > Combined shipping rules):
I’m on PC as well.
I tried creating a rate table, just in case displaying the two fields depends on having a rate table: no luck.
