Free fees promotion
Summary: rpg1 expressed concerns about how the "Free Fees" promotion was being applied on eBay, wondering why the count was not being done as expected. After contacting customer service, it was confirmed that the promotion applied to completed sales, and the count is only done when the item is finally sold. koalagris clarified that this free fee only concerned commission fees, which explains why the count is made at the sale rather than when the listing goes live. This clarification is being shared to help other users in the same situation.
I am one of the people who accepted the offer "promotion "Free fees"" and are wondering why the count is not being done as usual for the listings posted with it. And so whether there is a bug (and therefore pay full price) or whether Ebay has cancelled its offer.
I called Ebay customer service and was clearly told that the promotion applied for the duration of the listing period for these ads (up to 30 days at most, which corresponds to selling in "Buy It Now" format).
It’s just that the count only happens when the item is sold, which was indeed my case because I sold 1 item and the count was done properly because I am at 149 and no longer 150. The sold item did benefit from the free fees because I checked!
So there you go for those who are still wondering.
Have a lovely day everyone 🖐️

·1 year agoIt should be noted that this concerns a waiver of COMMISSION fees only (not listing fees).
So it makes sense that the count is done as sales come in (not when items are put online).
