Private seller commissions
Hello.
Not long ago, I received a message from Ebay saying (as I remember it) that starting September 1, no more commissions will be taken on sales made by private sellers, with, in return, protection paid for extra by the buyer.
Unfortunately, I can no longer find that message.
Could someone explain to me what the situation is, please, or point me to an explanatory link?

here’s what the message said about fees:
"the removal of transaction fees (final value fee and regulatory operating fees) for private sellers whose eBay account is registered with an address in the European Economic Area, when they sell an item on ebay.fr"

OP2 weeks agoThere’s still something I don’t quite understand. If the buyer protection principle is put in place and private sellers are no longer subject to commissions, I’m ready to lower my prices to be transparent with buyers. The problem is that apparently this only applies to listings in France and Italy, so if it’s a German buyer, they won’t have to pay buyer protection and I’d still have the usual commissions taken from sales. So it’s not possible to lower prices without knowing the buyer’s nationality. I probably haven’t understood it, but it’s not very clear....

Not at all. You will no longer have commissions on the final price and the regulatory operating fees to pay regardless of the nationality of your buyer.
