eBay sides with a buyer without proof
Summary: gilmog expresses frustration about eBay siding with a buyer who claims an item arrived broken without providing proof. They are upset that eBay has blocked their funds and that the buyer did not supply evidence needed for Mondial Relay insurance. lingma85 responds by explaining that without visible damage to the external packaging, any internal damage might indicate inadequate internal packaging, which is the seller's responsibility. They suggest that gilmog may have no recourse and has likely lost both the item and transaction value.
ebay sides with a buyer who supposedly received a broken item impossible to get proof of the breakage from the buyer in order to make the Mondial Relay insurance work ebay blocks my funds in order to protect a buyer who provides no proof so I lost the item and I paid fees to ebay which blocks my funds the fraud authorities have been notified as well as several consumer associations it is too easy to get reimbursed for an item by claiming that it is damaged without any verification from ebay which sides with the buyer

The Mondial Relay insurance can only be claimed if the parcel's outer packaging is damaged and, as a consequence, the inside as well...
If the buyer took delivery, it is likely that the outer packaging showed no defect.
On the other hand, if the inside is broken without that being visible from the outside.. that shows a defect in the inner packaging with insufficient protection...
And that is the seller's responsibility.
I fear that your case has no possible recourse and that you have indeed lost the amount of this transaction + the item itself broken.
As for the site's checks on the real or invented damage ... that's in the realm of dreams.
