Frankly, I would not buy if I were in your shoes...

The problem is NOT to know if the guitar is a real vintage Fender or not. The problem is not the "check out" service, as "I sold", the seller is using to be paid.

The problem is simply that you have no way to know if you will ever receive your guitar ! You haven't the slightest guarantee it's not a fake : about 1800 € for a guitar sold by a 0 feedback seller from England...?!

From Portugal, you would have no mean at all to recover your money if ever... Moreover if the seller asks for a Western Union payment or a bank transfer.

For such an amount, and providing you really want to buy the guitar, the only solution I see is that you can offer to come to UK to meet the seller, check the guitar in person, and pay only once you have checked it...
