eBay fees
Summary: staaarsdust expresses frustration over fees claimed by eBay for the sale of a tail light supposedly sold on the platform, when it had actually been sold a year earlier on another site. Although no payment was received from eBay, the situation is complicated by the inability to speak with their support team, and the dispute is considered closed. frelonverre and koalagris emphasize the importance of deleting listings once the item has been sold elsewhere to avoid fees, and specify that these fees are due even if the item is not sold on eBay. They advise reading the terms and conditions and agreeing to pay the fees.
Hello,
eBay is charging me fees for a rear light supposedly sold on eBay, even though this light was sold a year earlier on LBC.
Besides, I have never received any payment from eBay.
So it would be easy for them to verify! Supposedly the dispute is closed and there’s no way to discuss it anymore.
Funny sales system where eBay imposes fees on us, "ghost fees" for fictitious sales.
It’s not a huge amount ( 5 €) , but I do not accept this dishonest done-deal tactic.
I’ve tried to contact them several times but it’s impossible.
If someone has a solution ...
Thanks

"this item was sold a year earlier" = So why was it still for sale on ebay? It was up to you to delete the listing...
"I never received any payment, by the way" = makes sense since you did not fulfill the order. Meanwhile, the buyer had indeed been charged, and to get a refund he had to go through a dispute process, after which the commission fees still remain due (refusal to sell).

Before talking about dishonesty, you have to read and understand the T&Cs, and be responsive when the same item is listed on several sites.
= No other solution than to pay.

you may not agree, but the fees are still due as soon as the item is listed for sale (options), whether it sells or not
so either you pay or you don’t, it’s up to you
